The Goose is loose in Big D! Run don’t waddle to your closest beer store and pick up a twelver of Goose Island IPA. I know twelver is not a word but a sixer, while being pretty great, leaves you wanting more. We have tasted many IPA’s over the course of tastedbeer.com and even prior to the creation of the world’s best beer blogging site run by two brothers. I must say that the Goose Island IPA has to be one of my favorites right now. It has that dense hoppy flavor that delivers a nice bite to your taste buds that you expect with an IPA.

The Goose IPA also has the fruity fragrance that epitomizes any great IPA. We poured the brew into a pint glass to let the beer breath and release more flavor, which enhanced the more subtle flavors such as fuggle and cascade hops. The beer also comes with the wonderful IPA aftertaste free in every bottle. We visited the Goose Island Brewery web site after our tasting and found that the preferred glass is a thistle glass but I don’t see any problem drinking this out of a tried and true pint glass just as we did. I suppose you could drink the IPA out of the bottle too but you don’t want to be considered a heathen. Just for the record we are not one of those people, we drink beer out of what ever is on hand. I guess you could call us the Beer MacGyver’s, Rifle once fashioned a pint glass out of nothing more than a paper clip and a piece of Bazooka Joe gum. I should know I still have the comic.

Many blogs and beer reviews like to suggest a cheese or food pairing to go along with their respective beer, Goose Island is no exception. They suggest “chicken, curry, and pork”; wow all together that sounds fantastic. Next time I’m out to dinner I’m gonna order that, “I’d like number 23, the chicken curry pork dish please with a Goose IPA.”

I would like to add to an activity pairing to the mix. From here on out, Rifle is my witness, we will include a beer activity pairing for free with every blog posted. So that means, for every already world famous tastedbeer.com beer review about beer, you will get a beer activity pairing absolutely free, you just have to pay a small shipping and handling fee. That fee will be waived if you sign up to be a F.O.T.O.F. (friend of tastedbeer on facebook)

So the inaugural beer activity pairing is…drum roll please…Beer Frisbee also know as Beersbee or Friskee. The Goose Island IPA was just right for a rousing game of Beer Frisbee. So go on out and recruit a few friends to enjoy the wonders of Beersbee just don’t forget to pick up a twelver of the Goose.
